The new revision as of 2005, changed some proper names such as ‘Nabucadnosor’ to the more familiar ‘Nebucadnezar’ and ‘Esdras’ to ‘Ezra’. Likewise, the new revision has its footnotes added and had also interspersed the deuterocanonical books in its Catholic versions.

Likewise, some archaic words found in the 1980 edition, such as ‘patutot’(prostitute), ‘pakakak’ (trumpet), ‘saserdote’(priest), and ‘lebadura’(yeast) were changed to contemporary ‘babaing nagbebebta ng aliw’, ‘trumpeta’, ‘pari’, ‘pampaalsa’.

How to Install:

Module Maintainer Mode

1. Make sure you have your iPhone/iPod and the computer with your modules on the same (WiFi) network.
2. Start PocketSword.
3. Tab “More” in the lower right corner.
4. Tap “Preferences”
5. Turn “Module Maintainer Mode” on.
6. Go back to the “More” screen and tap “Downloads”.
7. Tap the asterisk in the upper right corner.
8. Follow the instructions on screen, which will give you the address where you need to point your desktop browser.
9. Navigate to the that address and follow the instructions in your browser window to upload the text to the iPhone/iPod.

1. Extract the zip file in your computer
2. Copy and paste (or drag and drop) the files in their respective directory using ifunbox

How to Install:

1. Unpack. Once you’ve downloaded the file, you will need to unpack the zipped file. There are several free programs available for “decompressing” files. Lifehacker has put together a list of the “Five Best File Compression Tools.”
2. File the files. This is where things can get complicated given the way we have presented files here at the BibleWorks Blog. There are two general places to put files depending on what their file extensions are.
   • If you unzip the folder and see files that have ddf or txt extensions, you need to copy these files to the C:\Program Files\BibleWorks 8\userdbdirectory. If there is a file with a bww extension, then copy that to theC:\Program Files\BibleWorks 8\databases directory.

   TIP: It’s a good idea to save each version’s group of files in their own directory in the \userdb directory. This will help you keep things straight for installation, backups, etc.  For instance, if you have abc.ddf and abc.txt, then copy them to the \userdb\abc directory. You may need to change the file paths listed in the Database Definition File (DDF) using the Version Database Compiler (VDC).

   • If you unzip the folder and see files that have the dbx, wdc, vmf, bww, or dbu extensions, simply copy these files to your C:\Program Files\BibleWorks 8\databases directory. If you are able to do this step, you’re done. Restart BW, and look at your new file!
